The Government of Jharkhand has decided to make technical education available to all the eligible students. Every year about 16000 seats are available in various branches of technical educational institutions. At present,a total of 15 engineering colleges and 41 diploma level technical institutes are functional at the State. The Directorate of technical Education is implementing many schemes for strengthening and modernization,such as up-gradation of laboratories,establishment of computer centers,up-gradation of infrastructural Facilities,Enrichment of liabraries,organizing workshops etc in the Government Polytechnic institutions and Government Engineering Colleges.The revision and modification of courses have been implemented keeping in view the needs of the present times and in compliance of NEP-2020
