| 1 | Directorate of Technical Education | Jharkhand Council on Science Technology | Jharkhand Council on Science, Technology and Innovation (JCSTI) carries outactivities for popularization of Science through various scientific activities in the State. The scheme provides financial support to JCSTI for the implementation of following work:- • To set up Science City in Ranchi/Dhanbad/ Bokaro with the help of the Central Government. (b) Biotechnology Park at Birsa Agriculture University will be setup withthe help of Central Govt. (c) 05 new Innovation Hub will be established in Polytechnics with the help of Central Govt. (e) Regional Science Centre has been made operational at Ranchi. (f) Council will run programs for scientific awareness, Scholarships, Awards, Seminar, Research & Development, Innovation etc to recognize contribution in the field of Sciecne& Technology. (g) Construction of planetariums at Dumka and Deoghar. (h) Small planetariums and Technical Librariesare to be set up in all District Science Centres. (i) Renovation and revamping of District Science Centers already established. There is a proposal to establish three new District Science Centers. (j) To Popularise Science and Technology in youths. JCSTI will start two mobile science exhibition buses which will go to every district in the State (k) The proposal to modernize and upgrade the Regional Science Center, Ranchi has been sent to the Central Government. |
| 2 | Directorate of Technical Education | Strengthening of Govt. Technical Educational Institutes | (a) Up gradation of laboratories, establishment of computer centres, enrichment of libraries, workshops/seminars and other works will be organized in technical educational institutionslike:- Govt. Engineering Colleges & Govt. Polytechnic/Govt. Women Polytechnics under this scheme. (b) To increase the enrolment capacity to achieve the national level standard, the number of branches in all the institutes will be increased. (c) To obtain accreditation of institutions from NBA/NAAC. (d) To establish Centre of Excellence in all institutions. (e) E-learning material will be provided in all institutes. To setup smart class rooms and ICT infrastructure in institutions to promote e-learning. To be made available Wi-Fi in all technical educational institutions. (f) To start Learning Management Systems in all technical institutions. (g) To establish student resource centre in all institutes. (h) It is priority of the State Government to grant Autonomy to BIT Sindri in 2023-24 and in future deemed university status. |
| 3 | Directorate of Technical Education | Strengthening of Directorate | The Directorate of Technical Education was established in the financial year 2016-17. The process of appointment on vacant posts in the Directorate has already begun. In addition to the field of technical education, the scope of the Directorate’s function has been expanded to include development of interest and awareness towards science and technology among the youth of the state. For this, the Directorate is being made fully functional with resources so that it can carry out these tasks successfully. |
| 4 | Directorate of Technical Education | Training & Development, Institutional Networking & Collaboration | (a) To develop all the institutes as full wi-fi campus. (b) Organizing workshop and seminar as per annual calendar. (c) Those students, who have completed degree or diploma, shall be trained as graduate apprentices and technician apprentices every year, for which govt. resolution has been issued in the year 2021. (d) Teachers of the different institution will be sent to participate in various seminars, trainings to be held at the National level so that they get updated of the various changes that are going on regarding studies and curriculum. (e) To arrange training program for faculties and students. (f) Focus will be given to improve Industry-academia linkage for skill enhancement of students. (g) Educational/Industrial focus for faculties and students. (h) Formation of PMU for implementing of different schemes. (i) Central Placement cell will be established and regular Rojgar Mela will be conducted on different location for better placement opportunity to the technical students. (j) Teachers and students will be sent to different industrial units/IT parks/international level to improve innovative capacity into them. |
| 5 | Directorate of Technical Education | Grant in aid to Technical Educational Institute in the state | A) Jharkhand University of Technology - Jharkhand University of Technology has been established to bring all technical education institutions in the state under one roof with a view of bringing under best administrative system. The University has started functioning from the academic year 2018-19. For this, the University has to be given a grant to regular expenses. All the work of State Board of Technical Education (SBTE) has been taken over by the University. To promote Research & Development activities in the State through its affiliated institutions. Grant in Aid will be provided for 08 new Polytechnic which will be operated on PPP Mode. B) Non GovernmentOrganisations – The agreement has been renewed between BIT, Mesra and the department by extending the period from the financial year 2013-14 to 2017-18 on previous terms and conditions. The remaining amount of the grant-in-aid will have to be paid to BIT, Mesra in the year 2023-24, under the said agreement. C) Financial Assistance to Female Students for Technical Education- In order to increase women’s participation in the field of technical education in the state of Jharkhand and to empower them, financial assistance will be provided to students for technical education institutions such as polytechnic and engineering colleges. The department will provide financial assistance to the concerned girl students through DBT directly, in the light of the recommendation of polytechnic college and engineering college for admission and continuing their further studies in technical education. D) Grant-in-aid to Central Technical Institute established in Jharkhand-The MOU has been signed between the Government of India, the State Government and the private sector undertaking to set up the Indian Institute of Information Technology (I.I.I.T.) in the state capital Ranchi on PPP mode. According to the agreement, the capital cost for setting up the institute is Rs. 128.00 crore, for which the ratio of the Government of India, State Government and private participation is 50:35:15. In the light of the said agreement, the State Government is to provide grant-in-aid for the establishment of IIIT in the state. |
