The
new state Jharkhand, formerly a part of Bihar state, was formed on November
15th, 2000 with Ranchi as its capital. Jharkhand is the 28th state of the
Indian Union. Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, is located at a height of 2100
ft above sea level in the heart of the Chotanagpur tribal area. Today it is a
fast growing city with industries and major educational institutes grooming in
and around it. Ranchi attracts tourists for its comfortable weather, healthy
environment and proximity to beautiful waterfalls, lakes and hills.
